A guide for families
Your questions, answered.
Joining, training, matchdays and support. Find the answer and a useful next step.
01Which program fits my player?Getting started
Start with your player’s age, experience and interest in training. Juniors offers a way to explore extra training, while competitive programs involve a team commitment. Ask Idaho Surf which group fits and what is currently available. Placement is confirmed by the club.
02How do tryouts and team placement work?Tryouts
Check published tryout updates, then confirm the assessment process with Idaho Surf. Ask about age eligibility, registration, venue, arrival time, what to bring and when decisions are communicated. An enquiry through this website does not reserve a roster place.
03What costs should we plan for?Costs
Ask for the full seasonal breakdown before committing: club and team fees, uniforms, tournament entry, travel, accommodation and any optional extra training. Confirm payment dates and refund terms with the club. Fees and financial support vary, so this website does not quote an unverified total.
04How much training and travel is involved?Commitment
Commitment depends on the age group, team and season. Look at the Academy calendar for the published U10/U11 schedule, then confirm your team’s training, matchdays, tournament plans and attendance expectations. Proposed events should not be used to book travel.
05Where do we find kickoff times and field maps?Matchday
Open the schedule and select your team. Match cards show the listed kickoff in Boise time, venue, field information and directions where supplied. The Fields view helps locate Simplot fields. Check the newest PlayMetrics event before leaving for any change to kickoff, field or arrival.
06Are these live scores?Results
Team Records shows published final results and competition totals. The homepage uses the same stored results as the records page. Source checks run regularly, but this is not an in-match scoring service. A missing or delayed result is not treated as a score of zero.
07What do the Academy teams focus on?Development
The aim is for players to enjoy soccer, grow confident on the ball and learn to make decisions. U10 learns through 7v7; U11 adds the spacing and relationships of 9v9. Coaches look at progress over time, with opportunities to try roles and learn from mistakes.
08How can parents support their player?Parents
Help your player arrive prepared, encourage effort and allow the coaches to coach during games. After a match, start by enjoying the experience together. Discuss an individual concern privately through PlayMetrics rather than from the sideline or in a public form.
09How do I access the Parent or Coach Hub?Member access
Protected resources require an invitation for the appropriate role and team. Sign in with the account linked to that invitation. Signing in alone does not add membership. If you need help, use the organiser contact form to request access and identify your team without sharing private player information.
10What if weather changes the schedule?Safety
Check PlayMetrics and direct team communication for cancellations, venue changes and other last-minute instructions. The website can retain the last known schedule when an external source is unavailable, so a listed event does not override a newer safety or cancellation message.
11Can we volunteer or support the Academy?Community
Ask about a specific role such as matchday setup, field marshal duties or equipment help. Local businesses can start a conversation about support. Official club partnerships and fundraising require club approval. Existing support for this independent website is explained in its sponsorship disclosure.
12Is this the official Idaho Surf website?About this website
This is an independent resource for the Idaho Surf U10 and U11 Boys Academy. Idaho Surf confirms official program availability, registration, team placement and club policy. Use this site to explore the Academy and follow published information, and the club’s own channels to register or confirm policy.
